Welcome to my world of wonderment

Unsurprisingly, given that I grew up living a barefoot life in Africa, close to nature, it is the natural world that inspires my work and is a constant source of wonder. Sand, sea, rain and mud, the moon and monsoons, mango trees, mountains and rain forests were my world and, though Africa is no longer my home, the nature is where I find my home regardless of land or continent.

Making ‘art’ is my way of deepening my connection to these things that have meaning for me, of internalising something that is greater than it or me alone, and of making discoveries about myself.

Traditionally, African and Aboriginal cultures are firmly rooted in their connection to the physical world which is both honoured and respected. Perhaps it is because their arts are their conduit to the transcendental that I also find that am strongly drawn to the arts - visual and musical - of both. Perhaps this comes through in my own work somehow. If it does, it is never done consciously.

I hope you will enjoy exploring my work on this portfolio site. It is a collection of both past and present work and you will find information about size, medium and price alongside each image. Some works shown here are already in private collections, but many could be made available as prints or limited edition Giclée prints on request. My email address is at the bottom of the page.

In my Blogs you can get a glimpse into my own creative and thought processes, musings about the work of other artists and other philosophical meanderings, as well as information about new work and upcoming exhibitions.. Do Sign Up if you would like to receive my Blog posts direct to your Inbox. I send out one or two a month.

Finally, if you would like to commission something specific for yourself or to give as a highly personalised gift, feel free to get in touch to discuss your idea.
